NYSS Project
UAG-300 E 50th Street Security Project
NYSS supported UAG’s 300 E 50th Street development with a fully integrated security solution designed for a high-end residential environment with ground-floor retail, premium tenant expectations, accessibility requirements, and long-term operational needs.
Ground-Up Luxury Residential Security Deployment
Project Scope at a Glance
Integrated Security for a Ground-Up Luxury Residential Development
UAG’s 300 E 50th Street is a high-end residential development built from the ground up, consisting of approximately 30 stories of luxury apartments with integrated ground-floor retail space.
The project required a modern, fully integrated security solution aligned with premium tenant expectations, operational efficiency, accessibility requirements, and long-term building performance.
NYSS designed and implemented a comprehensive deployment integrating Verkada, Avigilon, and Axis technologies across access control, video security, intercom, communication, elevator integration, and AV systems throughout the property.
The deployment included more than 400 devices, approximately 95 cameras, over 200 access-controlled openings, and more than 200 intercom and communication endpoints across the development.
The Environment
Luxury residential developments require security systems that feel seamless to residents while still supporting strong building operations behind the scenes.
For 300 E 50th Street, the solution needed to support residents, visitors, retail activity, building staff, amenity spaces, elevator access, communication systems, and accessibility requirements across a large ground-up residential environment.
Luxury Residential Experience
The system needed to support a premium tenant experience without adding unnecessary friction.
Ground-Floor Retail
The mixed-use environment required security planning that accounted for both residential and retail activity.
Elevator-Based Access
Integrated elevator controls helped manage floor-level access and tenant privacy.
Accessibility Requirements
ADA / UFAS-compliant systems helped support accessibility across the property.
Amenity and Common Areas
Audio-visual systems supported shared spaces and building amenities.
The Challenge
UAG needed a security solution that could be built into the property from the ground up, rather than added after the fact.
The challenge was to create an integrated system architecture that supported luxury residential standards, controlled access, tenant privacy, accessibility compliance, retail activity, and long-term building operations.
Key Considerations
- Supporting a ground-up residential development
- Aligning with luxury tenant expectations
- Integrating security with elevator controls
- Managing more than 400 connected devices
- Supporting ground-floor retail activity
- Meeting ADA / UFAS accessibility requirements
- Supporting common areas and amenity spaces
- Creating a future-ready infrastructure foundation
- Balancing strong access control with resident convenience
NYSS Scope of Work
NYSS designed and implemented an integrated security solution aligned with the operational needs of a luxury residential development.
Ground-Up System Design
NYSS designed the security system as part of a new construction environment, helping ensure the infrastructure aligned with building operations from the start.
Access Control
Card readers were installed to support controlled access across key residential, retail, and operational areas.
Video Security
Cameras were included to support visibility across important areas of the property.
Intercom Systems
Advanced intercom systems supported tenant and visitor management at key entry points.
Elevator Integration
Elevator controls were integrated to manage floor-level access and support tenant privacy.
ADA / UFAS-Compliant Systems
Accessibility-compliant infrastructure was included to support building code requirements and resident needs.
Audio-Visual Systems
AV systems were incorporated to support common areas and amenity spaces.
Building Systems Integration
NYSS coordinated access control, video security, intercom, elevator integration, accessibility systems, and AV infrastructure into a unified deployment of more than 400 devices across the property.
Technology Used
NYSS designed the 300 E 50th Street deployment around integrated security and communication technologies capable of supporting luxury residential operations, tenant experience, accessibility requirements, and long-term scalability.
The solution combined video security, access control, intercom, communication, and building systems integration into a coordinated environment across the property.
Verkada
Verkada technology supported modern cloud-managed security operations across the property, helping simplify visibility, management, and system accessibility.
Avigilon
Avigilon video security technology supported visibility across key residential, retail, and operational areas throughout the development.
Axis Communications
Axis communication and intercom technologies supported interaction between residents, visitors, and building staff at key access points.
Integrated Elevator Access
Elevator integration helped support controlled movement throughout the building and improved floor-level access management.
Project Insight
“For a ground-up luxury residential development, the security system has to be planned as part of the building experience. Access control, elevator integration, intercom, accessibility, and AV systems all need to work together from day one.”
Operational Value
The completed deployment helped support a high-end residential experience while giving building teams the integrated systems needed to manage access, communication, visibility, and long-term operations across the property.
Integrated Building Operations
The deployment unified access control, video security, intercom, communication, elevator integration, and AV systems across the property.
Controlled Access
More than 200 access-controlled openings helped support secure movement throughout residential, retail, and operational areas.
Improved Visibility
The Avigilon video security deployment supported visibility across key areas of the development.
Enhanced Resident Communication
Axis communication and intercom systems improved interaction between residents, visitors, and building staff.
Accessibility Support
ADA / UFAS-compliant systems helped support accessibility requirements across the property.
